how i teach English & maths
activities that help my students learn english and maths (and have fun too)
I like my students to ‘learn by doing’ and they seem to like this too! Here is a small selection of videos which demonstrate how I teach KS2, KS3 and GCSE English and Maths in a fun and interactive way.
Learning online is easy with Bitpaper. Let me show you how
In this video I show you how easy it is to use the interactive whiteboard (Bitpaper) and how much fun it can be for students. Children can use the pen function to colour and draw. They can also use the ruler and the many maths tools to enhance the learning experience. The eraser function gives the children the confidence to make mistakes and therefor be as bold as they desire!
Multiplication can be fun! Watch me show you how
Multiplication is something that all KS1, KS2 and KS3 children need to know how to do and understand the links between other maths skills. So it’s a big topic! Children must have good place value knowledge and an understanding of what multiplication is to succeed with their times tables. I love to use games to help them and in my experience this is a great way to help children learn.
Creative writing for children. Watch how technology can make it fun
In this video you will see how I use images to inspire. It’s easy to interact with each other and share ideas, because we have a shared screen. By using technology we have lots of resources at our fingertips that we wouldn’t have if we were using a workbook. This student easily learns writing skills that she can take with her into school.
How does it work and how can we get started?
